Charity: Boys and Girls Club of Dane County

Heather dedicates her life to children, and to improving our educational system. After
years as a t eacher and principal, she recognized that we need to focus on developing the
creativity of students, if we are to continue as a country leading the world. Despite the
loss of income and through a life threatening illness, Heather chose to pursue a job with
the Spring Green Schools that allows her to build on this understanding in innovative and
concrete ways with students and teachers. She's brilliant and determined in her pursuit of
excellence. On top of that, she's a wonderful wife, a loving and thoughtful mother, and a
compassionate friend. She's humble, and this award should go to someone who doesn't
normally call attention to themselves. She's an excellent role model to her colleagues, her
friends, her children, and to me. I am so fortunate to know and love her and I learn
something new from her all the time.
